Here are the best security cameras available at Bunnings:
1. EufyCam 2C: Best Security Cameras Bunnings in General
Whether you plan to build a home safety system or simply
want one to monitor the nursery, the EufyCam 2C system is a great starting
point. It comes in two, three, and four packaging, with additional individual
cameras available for about $160.
EufyCam 2C has every feature you may need in a home security
camera, including HD resolution, bi-directional sound, colorful night vision
(thanks to onboard lights), human detection, and battery life for six months.
It also has a decent 135-degree field of view and is compatible with all three
major smart home systems (Apple HomeKit, Alexa, and Google Home).
This starter kit also comes with Eufy HomeBase, which also
serves as local storage for your camera photos. Yes, this means no monthly
charges for cloud storage as you'll find with Ring or Arlo. HomeBase includes
16GB of storage, but on the downside, you can't expand it if you decide to add
more cameras.
2. EufyCam Solo S40: Best Solar-Powered Security Camera
Although some security cameras sold by Bunnings can be
solar-powered, they generally require you to buy compatible solar panels
separately. We love the EufyCam Solo S40 because it has its own integrated
solar panel there, making the installation great.
It captures very clear 2K shots with a full-color night
vision of up to eight meters, so you'll always be able to see what happens.
There is also 8GB of internal storage, which means no monthly fees and
better-protected data.
The EufyCam Solo S40 has an excellent IP67 weatherproof rating,
but because it is solar-powered, placement is somewhat limited because the
camera needs direct sunlight. If not, you may need to manually charge it from
time to time.
3. Ring Spotlight Camera: Best External Security Cameras Bunnings
The Ring Spotlight camera is a small and versatile thing. It
comes in a battery, wire, white or black version, so it fits almost any
external area.
This HD camera features a powerful 140-degree field of view,
allowing greater coverage of your outdoor space, as well as two-way audio, LED
light strips, and remote-activated sirens to scare off potential hackers. We
would also like to include lifetime theft protection, meaning Ring will replace
the camera for free if stolen.
As for the negatives, there are two main couples. First,
this camera (and all Ring cameras) does not include local storage. This means
you'll have to pay $4.95 a month for cloud storage, and more if you have more
than one Ring camera. Also, colored night vision only works with the wired
version, so keep that in mind if it's a major feature for you.
4. Orion Pan and Tilt Camera: Best Budget Security Cameras Bunnings
It's hard to find a decent security camera for less than
$50, let alone the one with features offered by Orion Pan and Tilt Camera.
Ideal for child monitoring or quadruple-legged troublemaker,
this budget-friendly HD camera can be viewed directly and remotely via the Grid
Connect app, allowing you to assemble the camera 355 degrees horizontally and
90 degrees vertically.
In addition, the setting is a very simple connection and
operation relationship, so no tools or batteries are required.
Of course, there are some compromises that come at a low
price. Orion Pan and Tilt Camera looks a bit cheap, and it's less responsive than more expensive cameras. However, for $39, they are good.
5. Arlo Pro 4: Best Security Camera for Smart Homes
If connectivity is key, the Arlo Pro 4 is a smart home
security camera that is hard to beat. It is compatible with HomeKit, Alexa, and
Google Home and comes with some very great smart features, such as different
alerts for people, vehicles, and packages, with AI-assisted body detection.
With 2K video resolution, color night vision, and a huge
field of view of 160 degrees, image quality is probably the best we've seen in
a security camera.
However, the main downside of the Arlo Pro 4 is that many of
its distinctive smart features are closed behind a firewall. In addition, no
internal storage, you are practically obliged to pay for the subscription anyway,
open both cloud storage and all paid features.
Last Word
Next time you're in the smart home security section of
Bunnings, we highly recommend choosing the EufyCam 2C package with two cameras.
It's a great multi-level factor that offers great value for the price. However,
any of the cameras on our list is more than just the task of protecting your
castle.
