How many times has this happened to you? You’re looking through greyhound data on your own site and thinking, I wonder what my dog would do in this race? Then you pop over to another site and think, Hmm, these dogs in this race have some interesting ancestors. I should check those out! And then you realize that your website doesn’t have information about any of those other races – or at least not the races that you wanted to find.
Can you trust it?
So what makes one dog racing site better than another? While
there are all sorts of criteria that go into making a final decision (race
times, pricing, odds, shipping), consider consulting reviews like these when
determining which greyhound-data site is right for you. Users can rank and rate
sites, and their ratings are crowdsourced from multiple sources. This
comprehensive user data is an excellent resource for figuring out which service
has access to which features--and it's also a great way to gauge just how much
other users trust a particular site. The more trustworthy it appears (the more
favorable user ratings and comments), you'll be able to make a sounder decision
about where to register.
Is there information on my favorite dog?
Have you ever visited a site and wondered, Is there
information on my favorite dog? The answer is yes. On the greyhound data site,
you can find most greyhounds and almost all dogs who race or have raced around
their pedigrees—and by accessing a pedigree, you also gain access to past
races.
Why should I subscribe?
What makes us different? Greyhound data have access to
information no other website has access to. Over 50,000 dogs are born each
year, and there are currently over 300,000 registered dogs. What’s more, there
is one dog born every five minutes! That’s a lot of data to keep up with. The
greyhound data database is updated daily with any changes that happen in
breeding circles and we collect information as soon as it becomes available.
With so much greyhound data at your fingertips, what would you do?
How much does it cost?
The best sites offer their data for free. Unfortunately,
there is still a huge difference between greyhound data sites, especially when it
comes to pricing. While most are extremely affordable, you should be wary of
any site that charges for its data. Sometimes, companies charge for what they
provide and sometimes they charge for what you don’t need but must still pay
for. Make sure you understand exactly how much your membership costs and what
exactly that money gets you.
When can I start using it?
You can use it right away! Greyhound-Data is a free,
open-source software project. There’s no need to register or pay any dues, just
go ahead and download whatever you want. (All of our source code is available
on GitHub.) But if you do like what we’re doing, please spread the word: tell
your friends about greyhound data, retweet us on Twitter, and tell us about
yourself on LinkedIn. Our goal for 2023 is to increase awareness of greyhound
data worldwide.
Do you have tips or tricks?
Create some tips and tricks for making data more readable
and/or how to use greyhound data to track down greyhounds that aren’t
registered. Make a list of all types of information that you can search for and
post it on your site. Maybe there is another great feature we haven’t thought
about? Have an idea, let us know! I love creative minds! Let me know what you
can come up with.
